Tasti-D-Lite : Upper Broadway
This Tasti-D-Lite location differs from some others which I have visited in that it has a selection of ice cream toppings; nuts, sprinkles, chocolate cookie crumbs, chocolate chips, and more, with its own area at the counter, protected by glass like the sandwich ingredients at Subway. This particular Tasti-D-Lite has no separate counter for scoopable "hard ice cream". Any hard ice cream for sale at this shop is pre-packed in containers bearing the Tasti-D-Lite label. They also have prepacked sundaes in the self-service freezers. This Tasti-D-Lite shop sells no other sweets or candy, but does have a seating area with counters and high stools used for internet computer stations.
I tried the Almond Joy flavor of soft ice cream when I visited this shop. Unlike its candy bar namesake, there is no chocolate or coconut detectable in any form in the soft ice cream Almond Joy flavor. It is a light taupe color, and the almond, while strong and artificial is at least not cloying.
