Description: Review of Galaxy 2.0 by Laura Brose c. 2008
This spacious frozen yogurt shop, decorated with depictions of some of the more exotic smoothie ingredients for which they tout health benefits (such as Goji berries and mangosteen) also serves hot and cold coffee drinks, oatmeal (only in the am, the brochure notes) and prepackaged chips. bars, and drinks.
Their frozen yogurt comes in two flavors, plain and blueberry. Their plain tastes slightly acidic but not too. Their blueberry, though homogenized, even in coloration and texture, and a lovely lavender purple, savors of the real thing, not artifical flavoring. Both flavors are described as low-fat on the menu. You can get a tiger-striped combination of the two in one cup, which costs 50 cents extra. Be warned that a "small" cup of their low fat frozen yogurt starts at $3.00, but I guess since their clientele is in the "silk stocking district" they can afford to pay. The yogurt is pretty good for frozen low fat yogurt and the blueberry flavor is a technical challenge and a coup.
This joint has a selection of the standard fro-yo parlor toppings, including mochi pellets, which, despite the presence of distinctly Asiatic faces behind the counter, are labelled "mozzy" on the cover of their container. This particular location also serves bubble tea as proclaimed by a flyer in the window and a list of flavors posted behind the counter. They also give out buy 10 get one free loyalty cards.
